Mercedes-Benz South Africa’s manufacturing plant in East London occupies a top position among the Daimler AG manufacturing plants worldwide and manufactures Mercedes-Benz C-Class left-hand and right-hand vehicles, as well as the Mitsubishi Triton for the local and export market, and Commercial Vehicles.

Procurement and export
All contractual relations with suppliers are monitored in terms of Mercedes-Benz South Africa’s global extended enterprise programme. This also includes government and parastatal activities that may affect supply chain management and exports as well as cost planning and cost optimisation programmes.

At Mercedes-Benz South Africa we are extremely proud of our latest certification as a BBBEE Level 4 contributor. While we have led the industry overall from the outset, and remain the leader in this respect, we are happy to share this rating now with two other manufacturers.
    However, MBSA still sets the benchmark in the most strategic areas of Management Control, Employment Equity and Skills Development. 
    Our focus on transformation started long before legislation demanded it and therefore we have more experience to implement transformation in such a way to  best benefit all our stakeholders and interest groups.
    We believe in challenging ourselves daily to improve on this, wherever we can and in any manner possible.
